The Director of the Courts Department at the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, Nayef Al-Thawadi, announced the opening of appeals before the Supreme Civil Court of Appeal against the decisions issued by the committees supervising the integrity of the referendum and elections, in relation to the voters’ lists.
Al-Thawadi also announced that the ministry has launched the service of submitting electoral appeals within its electronic services provided through the national e-government portal.
Al-Thawadi pointed out that the aforementioned electronic service is available seven days a week and around the clock, provided that electoral appeals are submitted according to the period specified by the law.
In this regard, he indicated that the ministry has issued three detailed guidelines related to how to submit electoral appeals, indicating that they are available on the ministry's website moj.gov.bh.
According to the law, the person concerned has the right to appeal against the decisions issued by the supervisory committees before the Supreme Civil Appeal Court within a maximum period of three days from the date of its issuance, and the court shall decide on such appeals within seven days from the date of filing the case with a final, non-appealable ruling.
