3/14/2020 The Minister of Justice appreciates the Royal Decree pardoning some of those sentenced for humanitarian reasons

His Excellency the Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Sheikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa, the royal decree issued by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the beloved monarch of the country, may God protect him, pardoning some of the convicts for humanitarian reasons, as the number of those covered by the high pardon reached ( 901) were sentenced, and the application of penalties and alternative measures expanded to include (585 inmates), taking into account the personal and family circumstances of the convicts and the humanitarian reasons, especially inmates, young people, and patients who need special care.

His Excellency the Minister of Justice stated that the Royal directives to expand the application of alternative penalties reflects the level of development of the justice and reform system in the Kingdom of Bahrain, by providing rehabilitation opportunities for the convicted aimed at helping them return to social life as positive individuals and pushing them to participate in the renaissance of national construction.

His Excellency stressed continuing to expand the fields of application of alternative sanctions with the participation of the private sector and civil society institutions, in addition to the public sector, in a way that contributes to strengthening social responsibility.
