31/8/2020 The Supreme Council for Women and the Ministry of Justice discuss developments in the work of the Ministry's Equal Opportunities Committee

The Supreme Council for Women held a meeting with the Equal Opportunities Committee at the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, during which they discussed the committee’s work and the most important developments regarding the ministry’s services and initiatives in support of achieving family stability within the strategic plan programs for the implementation of the National Plan for the Advancement of Bahraini Women (2019-2022).
Professor Dana Khamis Al-Zayani, Undersecretary for Family Planning, Reconciliation and Alimony at the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, (Chairman of the Equal Opportunities Committee), member of the Supreme Council for Women, affirmed the Ministry's keenness, within the framework of implementing Civil Service Instructions No. (4) of 2014 regarding the establishment of the Equal Opportunities Committee in the regions. The government, to renew and follow up the evaluation of the Ministry's executive plan related to institutional performance and the efficiency of service provision under the circumstances imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic, taking into account the needs of employees and beneficiaries of the Ministry's services of both genders.
Al-Zayani indicated that the ministry is working on developing and following up the activation of developing mechanisms for providing family conciliation services by expanding the geographical scope of family reconciliation offices to include all governorates of the Kingdom of Bahrain and providing qualified staff with specializations for these offices, and continuing to build the capacities of the functional cadres working in addition to evaluating procedures for transferring The Ministry's services provided to the public to digital services are available to the beneficiaries and beneficiaries from a distance, to ensure the continuation of the workflow without delay while adhering to the precautionary measures to maintain the safety of everyone.
For her part, Sheikha Dina bint Rashid Al Khalifa, Assistant Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Women emphasized the importance of the role of the Equal Opportunities Committee in the Ministry in following up the mechanisms of implementing the national model for gender balance in an effort to study and analyze the benefit of Bahraini women and families from the Ministry's programs and services and to develop future plans to bridge any quality gaps monitored. In order to achieve a comprehensive integration of women's needs, achieve gender balance, and strengthen cooperation between the Council and the Ministry.
During the meeting, many important topics related to developing work mechanisms were discussed in order to enhance the quality of services provided to Bahraini women and families and maintain their stability and dignity.
