03/04/2024 Justice Ministry, London Islamic Cultural Centre discuss cooperation

Nawaf bin Mohammed Al Maawda, Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, received Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Bahraini Ambassador to Britain, Dean of Arab Diplomatic Corps in the UK and Board of Trustees Chairman of the Islamic Cultural Centre in London.

The two sides lauded the ongoing constructive cooperation between Bahrain’s Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments and the London Islamic Cultural Centre, resulting in designating Shaikh Saleh bin Duaij Al Muhaisen, and Shaikh Ammar Hassan Al Tayyab Al Alawi to lead the Al-Taraweeh prayers at the London Central Mosque during the first half of the holy month of Ramadan, and from Ramadan 15 to 24, respectively.

The London Cultural Centre lauded the distinguished recitation of Bahraini holy Quran reciters, which attracted a large number of worshippers from various Muslim communities in London during the holy month of Ramadan.

The two sides also agreed to develop the London Cultural Centre’s library, and allocate a special Bahraini pavilion at it.

The ongoing cooperation between Bahrain and the Islamic Cultural Centre in London is the outcome of the Justice Minister’s visit to the United Kingdom in February.

During the visit, the minister and the Islamic Cultural Centre in London discussed ways to strengthen cooperation with Muslim communities in the diaspora.

It is worth noting that the London Central Mosque is one of the most prominent centres of culture and worship for Muslims in the United Kingdom and attracts thousands of worshippers every year during the holy month of Ramadan.
