2/3/2021 Documentation Department Director: Private notaries complete more than 35,000 transactions during 2020

In the context of enhancing notarial services, the private notary project achieved great success in this vital justice sector, which came with the support and follow-up of the Coordinating Committee, which contributed to the success of this initiative aimed at developing documentation services, within the framework of Bahrain Economic Vision 2030.
In this context, the Director of the Documentation Department at the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, Lubna Al-Mousa, stated that private notaries completed more than 35,702 transactions during the year 2020.
And based on strengthening the role of the private notary in providing notary services, His Excellency Sheikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa, Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, issued decisions authorizing (66) private notaries, including 53 for the Arabic language and 13 for the English language, because of the advantages that this provides based on accelerating Documentation work and facilitate its procedures for the beneficiaries of citizens, residents, companies and institutions by creating multiple options in terms of flexibility, speed, time and location.
This comes as a consecration of the partnership with the private sector in providing documentation services and creating legal professions, with the aim of responding to the requirements of this vital sector and absorbing this large number of transactions, by attracting a number of distinguished legal competencies, which have contributed to achieving tangible success in raising the efficiency of the performance of the services provided And the speed of completing transactions.
The private notary service provides the ability to book appointments in advance to obtain the service of a private notary, through direct communication with private notaries. Contact information for accredited private notaries is available through the national e-government portal www.bahrain.bh.
According to Ministerial Resolution No. 76 of 2017 in light of the amendment to some provisions of Decree-Law No. (14) of 1971 regarding documentation, a private notary service has been launched that allows auditors from citizens, residents, companies and institutions to conduct all transactions through legal and licensed lawyers, which include documentation For contracts and real estate transactions, as they were provided with official seals to perform their work, while the Documentation Department at the Ministry of Justice undertakes technical, financial and administrative oversight over the work of the private notary (the private notary).
