27/4/2021 The Ministry of Justice: Inviting entities and individuals to consult on the executive

The Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments announced that within the framework of the application of the Personal Data Protection Law, and in line with international standards and practices in this field, the Ministry continues to work on preparing the technical, technical and legal requirements necessary for the application of the law, noting that draft executive decisions for the law have been completed and published on the website. The Ministry of Justice called on the authorities and sectors concerned with the provisions of the law to contribute any suggestions or visions on the executive decisions related to the requirements that must be met in the technical and organizational measures to ensure data protection, the rights of the data owner, as well as regulating the work of data protection monitors.
The Ministry said that based on the great importance of the issue of personal data protection, it decided to survey the opinions of the relevant sectors in order to reach the best appropriate practices regarding the use, management or processing of personal data, in accordance with the provisions of the law, in order to ensure effective measures are taken to protect users' data and combat the violation of the privacy of their private information. The Ministry welcomed any inquiries or suggestions from the authorities concerned with implementing this law, and called on individuals and entities addressed by the provisions of the law to review the draft executive decisions currently published on the authority’s website, and urged everyone to participate in any observations or visions regarding them through direct communication with the authority on the official website www.pdp .gov.bh.
In a related context, the ministry said that it began addressing several concerned sectors to consult on executive decisions, to make room for all inquiries that might be raised, and to present any proposals that would constitute an important addition to the authority’s work regarding the implementation of the provisions of the law, within the framework of ensuring that Existence of oversight and auditing of the data and information that these institutions process.
The Ministry of Justice confirmed its keenness to promote and protect the right to privacy by committing to implementing mechanisms that protect individuals from privacy violations during the collection, storage, use, retention, transmission and circulation of their personal data by public and private agencies, especially in light of digital challenges, with the aim of ensuring access to data. And processing it according to transparent measures that give individuals confidence in everything related to their data and prevent the illegal retention or use of personal data outside the framework of the law and its illegal use.
It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments has assumed the duties and powers assigned to the Personal Data Protection Authority under Decree-Law No. (78) of 2018.
