2/7/2021 The Minister of Justice praises the Governorate of the Kingdom of Bahrain for its position

His Excellency Sheikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa, Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, praised the Kingdom of Bahrain’s achievement in combating trafficking in persons, which was reflected by maintaining its position in the first category for the fourth year in a row in the field of combating trafficking in persons, according to the annual report issued by the Ministry US State Department.
The Minister of Justice stressed that this civilized and humane achievement came as an embodiment of the royal vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of the country, may God protect him, in consolidating human rights, protecting basic freedoms, ensuring equality before the law without discrimination or discrimination, and providing fair remedies.
The Minister of Justice praised the pioneering role of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may God protect him, and his continuous follow-up, which resulted in unifying and strengthening efforts and coordinating the work of the competent authorities to combat trafficking in persons, which contributed to creating an effective institutional system that ensures speedy Respond according to a clear procedural path to deal with incoming communications.
The Minister of Justice said that among those important efforts are the establishment of the Trafficking in Persons Prosecution, and the allocation of a court to adjudicate crimes referred to it by the Trafficking in Persons Prosecution, which has enhanced the specialized expertise to investigate such crimes, in addition to strengthening criminal protection for victims of trafficking in persons to ensure them their legally established rights, and ensuring the prompt adjudication of these crimes in accordance with fair trial guarantees.
The Minister of Justice affirmed the continued keenness to strengthen national capacities in the field of combating trafficking in persons, pointing to the close cooperation that exists between the Institute of Judicial and Legal Studies and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, through which many qualitative and specialized training programs have been established with the participation of the relevant authorities in combating trafficking in persons.
