27/9/2021 General Registrar: Opening the door for submission for registration in the list of mediators in legal matters

The Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments announced the opening of applications for registration in the mediators’ list in Sharia matters, pursuant to Resolution (96) of 2021 issued by His Excellency Sheikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa, Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, regarding the regulation of mediation in Sharia matters.
The General Registrar in the Ministry, Salman Al-Amer, said that, according to the decision, a schedule will be established in the Office of the General Registrar at the Ministry of Justice, in which the approved legal mediators are registered, with a request submitted for registration in the mediators table on the e-mail of the Office of the General Registrar in the Ministry general_registrar@moj.gov.bh, while filling out the prepared form. For this purpose, which is available on the ministry’s website www.moj.gov.bh, provided that he fulfills all the data and documents necessary to verify the availability of the registration conditions in this table.
He added that it is required for those who apply to be registered in the mediators list for a natural person, to be Bahraini national, to be fully qualified, and to have a bachelor's degree or a BA, at least in the legal, social, psychology, family counseling, or equivalent certificates from one of the Recognized universities or institutes, and that the period of his experience working in his field of specialization is not less than three years, and he must pass a course in mediation in legal issues in accordance with the criteria and conditions issued by a decision of the Minister, and also specifying cases of exemption from this condition, and those with competence. Those who are known for their integrity and impartiality, and he has not been subject to a final judgment in a crime involving moral turpitude or dishonesty, or he has previously been dismissed from his job, or dismissed from his position by virtue of a judgment or disciplinary decision, or his registration has been crossed out from the list of mediators or experts, or canceled or suspended The license issued to him to practice his original profession by virtue of a judgment or disciplinary decision, and lawyers, professionals and others with experience may apply for registration in this roll.
He explained that for a legal person, it must be from among the associations, private institutions, or centers specialized in family affairs, marital ties and family guidance licensed to work in the Kingdom of Bahrain, provided that the mediator representing the legal person is one or more of its qualified workers who meet the prescribed conditions. To enroll a natural person in the mediators list to represent him in mediation procedures in legal matters.
