The Bahrain Banks Association, in cooperation with the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, and the Central Bank of Bahrain organized a meeting on Decree-Law No. (22) of 2019 regarding mediation to settle disputes. During the meeting, a visual presentation was presented by Lawyer Ali Abdullah Al-Aradi, dealing with the definition of mediation, its advantages and the extent The need of the banking and financial sector for this successful means of alternative means of dispute settlement.

His Excellency Sheikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa, Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, stressed during his participation in the meeting that the introduction of a mediation system in civil and commercial disputes is an important step in the development of the justice system, pointing to the further strengthening of the direction of alternative means of dispute settlement.

His Excellency Rashid Al Maraj, Governor of the Central Bank, also noted the importance of holding this type of meeting, especially by addressing the most important developments related to the work of the banking sector, including focusing on options that enhance the position of the Kingdom of Bahrain as one of the leading countries in providing banking services and enjoying an attractive environment for investments. .

During the meeting, an emphasis was placed on joint work in promoting the use of mediation by banking and financial institutions, as it is a special and distinct method for settlement, which takes into account the specificity of banking disputes and the nature of the relationship between their parties, as well as its reflection on the banking and justice systems, and the impact of the course of this type of dispute.
