3/3/2020 Minister of Justice: 10 private notaries provide authentication services for contracts and real estate transactions

In implementation of the order of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, to expand the scope of private documentation in the real estate sector, His Excellency the Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Sheikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa issued a new decree allowing six private notaries In the Arabic language, documenting contracts and transactions that would create, transfer, change, or extinguish any real property right and the agencies related to it, thus raising the number of private notaries licensed in the field of documenting contracts and real estate transactions to 10.

According to the Minister of Justice Decision No. (100) of 2019, an authorized private notary may document all transactions, including contracts and transactions that would create, transfer, change or eliminate any real property right and the agencies related to it.

His Excellency the Minister of Justice affirmed that work will continue to strengthen the role of the private notary, as they are partners in providing the authentication service, in a way that contributes to raising the capacity of the authentication work and providing this service during and after the official working hours, in addition to continuing work to complete the implementation of the electronic documentation project as well as the documentation of distance.

It is noteworthy that the private notary service allows citizens, residents, companies and institutions to conduct many transactions through legal and licensed lawyers, as they are provided with official seals to perform their work, while the documentation office at the Ministry of Justice assumes the technical, financial and administrative control of the work of the private notary.
