10/9/2022 Attorney General: The door for “candidates’ appeals” against the decisions of the supervisory committees will be opened as of tomorrow, Monday

His Excellency the Undersecretary of Justice and Islamic Affairs at the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, Judge Issa Sami Al-Mannai, announced the opening of appeals before the Civil Supreme Court of Appeal against the decisions issued by the supervisory committees on the integrity of the election, with regard to the lists of candidates, which are scheduled to be presented as of tomorrow Monday 10 to 12 October in the supervisory committees.
His Excellency the Undersecretary of Justice pointed out that the "filing a lawsuit" service provided by the ministry through the national portal bahrain.bh allows the submission of all types of electoral appeals, indicating that the aforementioned electronic service is available around the clock during the legally specified period, provided that electoral appeals are submitted According to the period established by law.
In this regard, he indicated that the Ministry has issued a guideline that includes the steps for submitting candidates' appeals, which is available on the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments website moj.gov.bh.
According to the law, anyone who has applied for candidacy, and whose name was not mentioned in the list prepared for this, has the right to request his supervisory committee to include his name among the candidates, or to object to the inclusion of the name of any of the candidates in his constituency, during the period of displaying the lists of candidates from the date of 10 Until October 12, 2022, provided that the committee decides on the application for listing or objection within three days from the date of its submission, and the committee’s failure to issue its decision within that deadline is considered an implicit decision to reject it.
Accordingly, the person concerned has the right to appeal the decision issued by the supervisory committee in this light, whether by refusal - explicit or implicit - within a period not exceeding three days from the date of its issuance before the Civil Supreme Court of Appeal, where, according to the law, this appeal is decided within seven days from the date of filing the case with a final, non-appealable judgment.
